I create my works primarily using oil paints, acrylics and watercolour pencils. The backgrounds range from paper, to canvas, plywood and walls. I graduated in graphic design from Curtin University over 20 years ago majoring in illustration.
I am constantly awed and moved by the beauty and connectedness I feel in nature, and this is what I seek to share and express through my art. I hope that what I create also brings the viewer a sense of joy and wonder. I am also inspired by poetry and stories, and often I try to create visual poems, to express a sense of joy, playfulness, innocence and discovery. In the past few years, I have been lucky enough to complete several public murals, including two large commissions in the heart of the town of Esperance whilst engaging the community.
As a landscape architect I have a good understanding of the ways we use and inhabit spaces, and how our environment can deeply affect us. I believe in the value of well-designed spaces, and appreciate the way art can enliven any public space, a room or a wall, and add value to our lives.
For the past couple of years, I have also focused on connecting my passion for art with a desire to help others connect to their own creativity, and thus have completed studies in Art Therapy as well as Hypnotherapy.
